Pickle ball, according to a recent article in the Bend Bulletin, is America’s fastest growing sport. If any resident is interested in learning more about this exciting and fun activity, please contact your AG neighbor, Rip Osterhuber, at 541-318-6253 or email email@example.com. He would be happy to arrange an introductory session.
If fly fishing interests you, a fly fishing group was formed this past winter. They meet once a month on the 3rd Thursday at Awbrey Glen for lunch. If you would like more information about this group, please contact Tom McLaughlin at 541-617-1877 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Awbrey Glen Golf Club continues to support the social duplicate group that plays every Tuesday in the winter. Play day starts as soon as golf is over and continues until golf season starts again. We play at 12:30 and you must have a partner in order to play. I will make every effort to find partners if I know there are some singles wishing to play. We are here to socialize, play duplicate, perhaps learn a bit more about bridge and mostly to have fun. All communications are done via email. All who play must have played duplicate previously and be familiar with scoring, bidding boxes and the conventions of American Standard Bridge. While a convention card is not mandatory, it is a good way to communicate with one's partner.
This is duplicate in a social environment and the game is not sanctioned – master points are not awarded but rather prize money is paid out each week to both winners in North/South and East/West. One dollar of each person's entry fee goes towards paying to one third of those playing. We will play either Mitchell or Howell movements depending upon the number of pairs signed up for the day. Advanced signup is required no later than 5:00 p.m. the Sunday before the Tuesday play day. The game is set up Sunday evening and cancellations, while sometimes necessary, may cause a change to the game played.
Please contact Louann Thomas - email@example.com for more information or to join in the fun!
